Fanatron is operated from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what we collect when you visit getfanatron.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you give it to us to be told when the first units ship. That is the only reason we ask for it.
- Order and contact details — name, shipping address, email, phone — if and when you place an order.
- Basic technical information your browser sends to any website: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages you looked at. Our store runs on Shopify, which records this to serve the site, keep it secure, and give us aggregate traffic statistics.
We do not collect anything from the scoreboard itself. A Fanatron on your wi‑fi talks to public sports data feeds directly; it does not report back to us, and we have no way to see what it is showing.
Payment information
We never see or store your card number. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment processors, who receive your card details directly.
Why we collect it
To send the one launch email you asked for, to take and fulfil orders, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Who else handles it
- Shopify Inc. hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf. See Shopify’s own privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Payment processors engaged through Shopify, for the payment itself.
- Shipping carriers, for the address on the parcel.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to respond.
Cookies
The store sets cookies that are necessary for it to work — keeping a cart, remembering a session, protecting against fraud — and cookies that count visits in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; parts of the store may stop working if you block the necessary ones.
How long we keep it
Launch-list email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or until the launch mailing is done, whichever comes first. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Everything else is kept only as long as it is useful for the purpose it was collected for.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Fanatron is not trading yet. The only personal information this site holds today is a launch-list email address, and the unsubscribe link in any message we send removes it. A contact address for requests will be published on this page before ordering opens.
If you are in Canada, this store is subject to PIPEDA, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, and opt out of any sale of personal information — we do not sell it.
International transfers
Our service providers, Shopify included, may store and process information in Canada, the United States and elsewhere. Wherever it goes, it stays subject to this policy.
Children
This store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned in the launch email.
