These terms govern your use of getfanatron.com and anything you buy from it. Using the site means you accept them. Fanatron is operated from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Where things stand
Fanatron is not shipping yet. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, and joining the launch list is not an order, a deposit, a reservation, or a promise of a unit. It gets you one email when the first batch is ready. Specifications, photographs, prices and dates on this site describe work in progress and may change before anything ships.
Orders, when there are orders
Once units are for sale, an order is an offer to buy, and a sale is formed only when we accept it and dispatch the goods. We may decline or cancel an order — including after it is placed — if an item is unavailable, if a price or description was wrong, or if we suspect fraud. In that case you get a full refund and nothing else is owed. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and exclude taxes and duties unless stated. Returns, refunds and shipping are covered by the refund and shipping policies published at the time of sale.
The product
Fanatron is an LED matrix panel driven by a small single-board computer. It needs mains power and a wi‑fi network with internet access to fetch scores. It is a display for personal, non-commercial use; it is not a safety device, a timing device, or a source of official scoring, and scores may lag, be wrong, or be unavailable when the underlying data source is.
The software is open source
The software running on the board is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. Buying the hardware does not restrict any right the GPL gives you: you may run, study, modify and redistribute the software under that licence, and you are entitled to the corresponding source. The GPL, not these terms, governs your use of the software, and the GPL provides it without warranty of any kind. Third‑party components keep their own licences.
No affiliation with any league or club
Fanatron is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the Premier League, any of their member clubs, or any players’ association. League names, club names, logos and marks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe what publicly available data the display can show. Scores and statistics come from publicly available sources and are the property of those sources.
Using the site
Do not attempt to break into, overload, scrape at damaging volume, or otherwise interfere with the site or anyone else’s use of it. The site’s text, images, and design are ours unless stated otherwise; the open-source software is under its own licence as above.
Warranties and liability
Except for the statutory guarantees and consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law — which are not affected by anything here — the site and its content are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to what you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. The version in force is the one published when you use the site or place an order.
